Strategies to get the optimal Currituck vacation property experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • To find the best value, shift your family's Currituck vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.

Selecting and booking the perfect Currituck rental:

  • Select your dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Aye Corolla: Private Pool, Hot Tub, 550 Ft to Beach has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Currituck destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
