Rental home booking tips:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- In the Currituck area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summertime is high season in the Currituck area. To find the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Currituck restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to choose the best rental home:
- Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Oceanside, Community Pools, Close to Beach, Community Amenities, 607, Beach Ball Villa has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Call the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
