Rental home booking tips:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Reserve your rental home in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- In the Currituck area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 6 BR Oceanside home located on a Cul-De-Sac in Gated Community has 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your trip.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your agreement.
Advice for a great stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon check in. message the rental manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of problems.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
