Raye of Sunshine is a gorgeous home located along the fairway on one of the highest elevations in the Currituck Club. This coveted location provides guests with expansive ocean vistas that only a handful of homes within the community can offer. With over 4,300 square feet of indoor living space and a variety of common areas, families can gather together or spread out while still being under one roof. Five of the seven bedrooms include an ensuite bath, so everybody can have their own getaway with plenty of space and privacy. An elevator that goes to all three levels and a wheelchair-friendly suite on the ground level make Raye of Sunshine ideal for guests with accessibility needs. A reverse floor plan with soaring ceilings and a wall of east-facing windows in the great room takes full advantage of the expansive ocean and golf course vistas. Entertain family and friends in this open-concept space with plenty of comfortable seating and a cozy gas fireplace. It leads out to an broad sun deck for effortless indoor/outdoor living. Use the gas grille and outdoor dining set for al fresco meals with an ocean view. Back inside, handsome wood floors flow from the living and dining areas into the kitchen. It overlooks the great room and includes an island with bar seating so guests can still socialize and savor the view while cooking. Two ovens and two dishwashers make cooking and cleaning up for bigger groups a breeze. A sunroom off the dining area is infused with natural light and provides a secluded space for curling up with a good book. The loft includes a sitting area for admiring the sunsets and a desk for catching up with work or school remotely. At the end of the nighttime, make your way to the top-level primary bedroom where you'll find the same spectacular view as the great room, along with direct access to the deck. Pamper yourself in the cavernous ensuite bath with generously sized soaking tub and separate walk-in shower. The mid-level includes four additional bedrooms that all provide deck access for appreciating those salty ocean breezes. Gather the family for a movie or the big game in the theater room with a huge screen TV and two rows of seating. For even more entertainment, head downstairs to the rec room with billiard and shuffleboard tables. The garage has been converted to a second game area complete with air hockey table, ping pong and foosball - really something for everybody! A ground level wet bar is equipped with a full-size refrigerator for storing additional groceries, refilling your drink without having to go upstairs, or grabbing a snack to appreciate poolside. Just outside the rec room, a covered deck overlooks the home's backyard getaway with saltwater pool, hot tub and plenty of space for calming in the sun. In addition to all the private amenities you'll enjoy at the home, guests will also have access to a variety of recreational activities within the Currituck Club. The golfers in your group can take advantage of discounts to play the 18-hole championship Rees Jones course, offered exclusively to Raye of Sunshine guests. The community's main clubhouse is less than half a mile from the home and features a exercise center, outdoor pool with tiki bar, tennis, basketball, shuffleboard and volleyball. During the summer months, take a short walk to the trolley stop and use the complimentary shuttle service to get to the beach. Once you arrive, you'll be greeted by a valet who can assist you with carrying all of your gear (Memorial Day - Labor Day). Accessibility Information: Bottom level is accessible through garage or 36" wide door on side of home. Elevator goes from ground level (in garage) to both mid and top floors. Bedroom 2 has a 32" wide doorway from the rec room and a private bath with a 32" doorway, roll-under sink, roll-in shower w/ seat and hand-held shower nozzle, and handrails for toilet and shower. Theater room on mid-level has double doors for access. Great room on top floor has 32" wide sliding door to deck with a 2" lip. No family pets allowed - pet complimentary. No smoking/vaping. Located in Corolla, this vacation home is near the beach. Get the most from your spending budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Corolla. To get the most suitable rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Currituck area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.

  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or applied to your contract.

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
