Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Corolla. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking the bestrental home:
- Choose dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. All Things Possible: Private Pool, Hot Tub, Currituck Club Amenities has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
