How to get the best Corolla vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, try changing your family's Currituck vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the perfect rental home:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Soundside, Community Amenities, Sun Decks, 327, Footprints by the Sound has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a particular Currituck beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
