Vacation rental booking tips:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Currituck area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Currituck area. Booking in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the perfect rental home in the Currituck area:
- To start, have your family decide on dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. 3-Story Home w\/ Private Pool, Hot Tub, Rec Room, Pool Table, & Unobstructed View has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your invoice.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your visit:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
