Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Corolla. Reserve your Currituck vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfectvacation home:
- Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Turtles & Tanlines: Private Pool, Hot Tub, Currituck Club Amenities has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a particular Currituck destination you are enamored with, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
