Tricks and tips to get the perfect Currituck rental home experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Corolla. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies supply Currituck area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick a perfectrental:
- Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Third Row Whalehead Home w\/Pool + Spa, Sleeps 22! has 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. Otherwise, email the property owner before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your trip.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
