How to find the best Currituck vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Currituck area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Sound Of The Sea: Private pool and hot tub, sound view, and Currituck Club ameni has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation family.

More considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
