Tips to get the perfect Currituck rental home experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Currituck area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking a perfectrental home:
- Choose your vacation dates and budget.
- 650 ft from the beach
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If not, email the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
