Strategies for getting the best Corolla rental experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Currituck area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by having your group select date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 1488 - Sandy Pause 6-bed 5-bath, Corolla, NC, pet friendly, private pool, hot tub, game room has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.

Tips to have a great stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
