Getting the best Currituck vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Currituck area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book your prefectrental:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Oceanside 6\/BR home in Corolla with Pool and Hot Tub has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you book the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
