Tips and Tricks to get the best Currituck rental home experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your Currituck rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitors guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and choose your Currituck rental home:
- Start by choosing your trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. OS629- Oceanside, Corolla, Sunday Check In, Pet Friendly! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your group.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
- If there's a certain Currituck attraction you love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
