Tips and Tricks to get the best Corolla rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Currituck area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- To find the best rental for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Currituck restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Message in a Bottle at Beacon Villas, 4 Bedroom Luxury Townhome w\/ Corolla Light Resort Amenities has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges applied to your contract.
- If there's an individual Currituck destination you love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
