Tricks and tips to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to book a Currituck rental & When to go:
- Booking in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain deals for local shops and restaurants.
Finding the best vacation home in Corolla:
- Start by having your family agree to the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. MERMAID HIDEAWAY Canal Front-Personal Dock-Daily Horse Visits-Pet Friendly has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
