Tricks and tips to get the very best Currituck vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. MERMAID HIDEAWAY Canal Front-Personal Dock-Daily Horse Visits-Pet Friendly has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your trip.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
