Strategies to get the very best Currituck rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summertime is high season in Corolla. To book the most suitable rental within budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Make a plan and choose the perfectvacation home:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. It's 5 O'clock Somewhere: Pool, Spa, Club Access has 5 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a certain Currituck destination you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, note any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
