Booking the best Currituck rental home experience:
Finding the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Currituck area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefect Currituck rental home:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Ocean View house, near Beach, dining & shops has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- If there's a specific Currituck destination you long to visit, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Have a wonderful stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
