Tricks and tips to get the best Corolla vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking your Currituck vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect vacation rental:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Horse Haven - Carova 4x4 Beach - Canal\/Water Front - Pool & HotTub - Private Lot has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.

Tips to have a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
