Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Booking in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself.
