Strategies to get the very best rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Corolla. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Currituck vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose the perfect Currituck rental home:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanside, Private Poll, Hot Tub, Pool Table, Wild Horses, 4x2257, Whispering Pines has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a particular Currituck attraction you long to visit, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
- During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
