Strategies for getting the best Currituck vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Corolla. To find the best value, try changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Currituck area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and choose the right Currituck rental:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Blue Skies: Private Pool, Spa, Game Room has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If they are not listed, call the host before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas during arrival. message the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
