Our top Corolla rental booking tips and tricks:

When to visit & When to reserve a Currituck rental home:

  • Summer is high season in the Currituck area. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Currituck area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain coupons for local shops and restaurants.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Blue Skies: 2021 New Construction, private heated pool, hot tub, game room and e has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's an individual Currituck destination you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
