Tricks and tips to get the best Currituck rental home experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • Summertime is high season in the Currituck area. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Currituck vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • In the Currituck area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Currituck visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose the perfect vacation home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Private family-run waterfront beach house near Carova firehouse on 4x4 beach. has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
