Currituck vacation rental home tips:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Summer is high season in the Currituck area. To get the best value, shift your family's Currituck vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Currituck visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental in the Currituck area:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a budget.
- Corolla has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is best for your group.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
