How to get the best Currituck vacation rental experience:

When to reserve a Currituck rental home & When to go:

  • Summer months are high season in the Currituck area. To find the most suitable vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Currituck restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • In the Currituck area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. The beautiful beaches of Corolla are just a few feet away at Oasis! has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If not, reach out to the host before booking the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's an individual Currituck attraction you crave, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
