Tricks and tips to get the perfect Corolla vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Currituck restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Select vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. The beautiful beaches of Corolla are just a few feet away at Oasis! has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Advice for a great stay:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
