Tricks and tips to get the best vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- To get the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Currituck area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the perfect vacation home:
- Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Spacious Dog-Friendly Home Near Beach w\/ WD, Private Pool & Hot Tub, WiFi, & AC has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation.
- If there's a specific Currituck attraction you love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
