Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer is high season in the Currituck area. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local tours and attractions.
Selecting the best rental:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Sound Spirit:Unwind at this charming pet friendly home in the gated Currituck Cl has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a certain Currituck destination you simply love, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
