Tips and Tricks to get the very best Currituck rental home experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Summer is high season in the Currituck area. To get the best rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Currituck area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and choose the rightrental home:
- To start, have your group commit to date ranges and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Sea Biscuit: Private Pool & Spa, Golf Discounts has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
