Finding your perfect rental:

- In the Currituck area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 4X4 WATERFRONT BEACH HOUSE WITH BOAT DOCK has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a particular Currituck destination you long to visit, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
