Tricks and tips for getting the best Currituck vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- To find the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Currituck area travel guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by having your family select vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Only a few weeks left at Our Father this year...how about an October Getaway has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- During arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
