Currituck vacation rental tips:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Currituck vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Currituck area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Newly Remodeled Oceanside with a Heated Private Pool...Bring Fido! has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
- If there's an individual Currituck beach you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
