Corolla vacation rental home tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- To find the best rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Currituck area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your rental search:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanfront home w\/heated pool, hot tub, elevator & rec room w\/pool table has 11 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. Otherwise, email the property owner before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a certain Currituck destination you love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
During your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
