Tricks and tips for getting the perfect vacation home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Currituck rental home:
- Summer is high season in Corolla. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitors guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and choose the rightrental:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean & Golf Course Views, 5 Bedroom, Private 75 Ft Pool, Gym\/Pickleball\/Tennis has 5 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If not, call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your trip.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs applied to your contract.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
