Tricks and tips to get the best Corolla rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Currituck area, The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summer months are high season in Corolla. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Currituck trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Currituck area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the best rental home in Corolla:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. A few step to the beach\/Private Pool\/Spa\/Linens\/Beds made\/office\/Wifi\/much more has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
