Corolla rental home booking tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Currituck trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a group leader, select your dates, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Limoncello Grove: Private Pool, Hot Tub, Pet-Friendly has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Tips to have a great stay:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many difficulties.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
