When you want to discover, spend the day in nature at Currituck National Wildlife Refuge, about 14 miles north, or head south around 20 miles for a dose of history at the Wright Brothers National Memorial. In between, you'll find miles of charming beaches and the appealing town of Duck, around 10 miles away. Closer to home, you've got access to a 7-acre supplied fishing lake.

But first, coffee - brew a pot and spend the morning calming on any of four comfortably furnished decks, then slip into the hot tub for a pre-breakfast soak if you're not rather ready to start the day.
