Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:
When to visit Corolla & When to book:
- In the Currituck area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in Corolla. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Currituck area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Large home near beach with decks, patio, grill, outdoor shower & hot tub has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Currituck destination you are crazy about, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
