Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Corolla. To get the most suitable rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Currituck restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many property management companies supply Currituck area travel guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and picking the best Currituck rental home:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Wild Horses, Wilder Views: Stunning Carova Canal Front Home has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your group.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
