Tips to get the best Currituck vacation home experience:
When to book a Currituck rental home & When to go:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- To find the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Doc's Landing: Private Pool, Hot Tub, Golf Membership has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a particular Currituck attraction you are enamored with, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
