Rental home tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Corolla. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitors guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your rental search:
- First, have your family select vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Doc's Landing: Private Pool, Hot Tub, Golf Membership has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
