Corolla rental booking tips:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- To find the best vacation home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. CB20 Sunset Serenade * Soundfront has 9 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is right for your family.
- If there's a specific Currituck beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
Additional considerations:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
