Tricks and tips to get the very best Currituck vacation home experience:
When to book a Currituck rental home & When to go:
- Summer months are high season in Corolla. Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Currituck area visitor guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best vacation home in Corolla:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. CB11*4bedrm*Hot tub*Fire Pit*Foosball*Comm Pool has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If not, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- If there's an individual Currituck beach you long to visit, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
