How to find the best Currituck rental experience:
When to visit Corolla & When to book:
- In the Currituck area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Summertime is high season in the Currituck area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in the Currituck area:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Cat Nap Cottage: Golf Membership, Hot Tub, Ocean Views has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Have a great stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
