Currituck rental booking tips and tricks:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Corolla. To get the best value, change your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Currituck visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to pick the best rental:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Community Pool & Fitnes has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your family.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Have a great stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
