Strategies to get the best Corolla vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Booking in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and choose your prefect Currituck rental home:

  • Begin by choosing trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Marsh & Harbor: Shared Pool, Spa, Club Access has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If not, contact the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • If there's an individual Currituck attraction you crave, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
