Strategies to get the perfect Currituck rental home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Corolla rental home:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Currituck area. Book your vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Caroline's Cove
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is optimal for your trip.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many issues.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
