How to get the best vacation home experience:
Get the best rental value:
- In the Currituck area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer is high season in Corolla. Book your Currituck rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitors guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting and booking your Currituck rental home:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Carolina Freedom: Private Pool, Hot Tub, Sleeps 9 has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Currituck attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
