Tricks and tips to get the best Currituck vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Booking in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Currituck area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Crown Point
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
