Tips to get the best vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Currituck visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.

How to choose the perfect rental in Corolla:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Walk to Corolla Village and the Beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Currituck attraction you long to visit, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, note any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
