Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Booking your Currituck vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Currituck area travel guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and picking your prefectrental home:
- Start by choosing your trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Belle Eire at Pine Island 8 Bedroom Oceanside Home has 8 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
