Corolla rental home booking tips:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Corolla. To book the largest rental within your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Currituck restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick your prefectrental home:
- To start, have your group agree to trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. A Shore Pleasure: 3 story deck with awesome views, your own private pool and hot has 8 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is right for your trip.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Advice for your stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
