Tips to get the best Corolla rental experience:
When to visit Corolla & When to book:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Corolla. Book your Currituck rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the perfect vacation rental in Corolla:
- To start, have your family commit to trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. A Ruff Life: Saltwater Pool, 500ft. to the Beach has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your group.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
