Corolla rental booking tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- Summertime is high season in Corolla. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to pick the best rental in the Currituck area:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. A Ruff Life: Saltwater Pool, 500ft. to the Beach has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
