Booking the best vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Corolla rental home:
- Book your rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Currituck visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefectvacation home:
- Start by having your family choose trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Oceanside, 5 BRs, Wild Horses, 600 ft to Beach Access, 4wheel Drive Area, 4x2398, The T House has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your group.
- If there's a certain Currituck attraction you crave, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of problems.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
